How to repurpose content for multiple brands without making it all sound the same

Get more from each brand's strongest ideas without turning your channels or clients into copies of each other.

A strong article can become a useful email, a LinkedIn post and a short visual. That is repurposing. Taking the same paragraph, changing the logo and sending it through every brand is not. For a team juggling several accounts, the difference matters: reusing the method saves time, while reusing the message can erase what makes each client worth following.

Start with the strongest source, not the busiest channel

Look for material that already contains a useful answer: a customer question, an internal explanation, a case study or a talk from someone who knows the subject. Check that you have permission to use any client details. Then identify the single point a reader should remember. If the source has five ideas, make five pieces rather than squeezing them into one.

Change the job for each format

A blog article can explain the problem and the steps. A LinkedIn post might take one practical observation from it and invite a relevant conversation. An email can connect that observation to a question customers have been asking. Each format should stand on its own, not tease an answer that exists somewhere else.

    1. 01Choose one approved source and write its main point in a sentence.
    2. 02Pick the reader and the job of each new piece.
    3. 03Adapt the structure to the channel and add a concrete example.
    4. 04Check names, facts, permissions and the brand's voice before anything goes live.

Reuse the workflow across brands, not the proof

You can use the same four-step workflow for every client. You cannot assume they share evidence, opinions or language. If two brands both want to discuss the same trend, source a different example for each and ask what their audiences need to know. If there is no distinct angle, publish for the brand with the strongest reason to speak and let the other sit it out.

Keep a simple record of what came from where. A source title, a link to the original, the brand owner and the pieces it produced are enough to stop a team losing track of permissions or publishing the same thought twice.

    Where Plot can help

Plot can turn a blog into LinkedIn posts or an email into captions, while using brand context to help shape the drafts. Its content library keeps work available for reuse, and its planning tools help connect the next piece to a wider goal. Treat the output as a draft: review the angle, verify the details and make sure it sounds like the brand that will publish it.

A single multi-client workspace is still coming soon. The immediate benefit is a more repeatable way to plan, draft and review the content for each brand, without expecting one piece to do the same job everywhere.

Make one source work harder this week

Pick one approved article and create two new pieces for the same brand: a LinkedIn post answering one question and an email offering one useful next step. Compare them with the source. They should clearly belong together, but none should feel like a shortened copy of the other.
